As the world’s best-selling toy, the Rubik’s cube is both a fun pastime as well as the foundation of very intense speed-solving competitions. Bolt and Ubiquity Ventures are delighted to invite you to join us on February 19 evening as we dive into the many facets of Rubik’s cubes.
Over appetizers and drinks, you will make your way from table to table learning each step of solving your Rubik’s cube (yes, you get a free Rubik’s cube too!). We will have expert teachers stationed at each table to walk you through bite-sized steps, including...
We will feature a talk from Tyson Mao, the former world record holder for blindfold solving a 3x3x3 Rubik's Cube (ie, he memorizes a random cube, and solves it without looking; 45 seconds later, he brings it back in front of him solved). Tyson will speak about Rubik’s Cube solving culture and competitions and the history of standardizing a competitive process around the puzzle. We will also have Daniel Walton speak on how robots solve Rubik's cube including how he wrote the world's first open source NxNxN solver for his CraneCuber robot.
Afterwards we will have drinks and more cube solving and networking by the fire pits on Bolt’s outdoor patio.
